This is a volunteer-produced index of headstone inscriptions across Canada. The index was provided by CanadianHeadstones.com.
Each result will provide you with a transcript of key information including all or some of the following fields:
For some records, years were only included in the inscription field. Be sure to check that field for additional details. If you are having difficulty finding your ancestor in this index, try searching on just a name with no year selected.
You may be able to find images of your ancestor’s headstone on the source website.
Begin your search broadly with only a name.
Occasionally, years were only recorded in the inscription field; as such, searching on a year may return no results when your ancestor’s record is, in fact, included. To ensure you don’t miss your ancestor, try searching without a year included or search for the year in the optional keywords search field.
Some individuals died overseas, for example, during military service. If you suspect your ancestor did, enter the country you think they died in into the country field.
