For example, in the records from St Jacob’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Bend, Pennsylvania, we see recorded the following inscription for Della Nora, daughter of R T and E M Smith, born 13 December 1875 and died 3 April 1881: ‘Della is gone to rest – that lovely child called hence by early doom – just come to show how seet [sic] a flower in paradise could bloom’.
This collection is part of a larger body of work that will be published on Findmypast over time. It is important to note that this may not be the only place to find death and burial records—and there may be records included that do not pertain to a death or burial—in this particular collection of material from the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, rather these were the records that we were able to identify as largely composed of deaths and burials.
